Blending a modern design with classic AKIOS engineering, the SHUTTLE is back, featuring iconic chromed brass side plates and a one-piece CNC low-rider cage.

Designed for serious casting performance, the SHUTTLE 656 SCM is built around a free-floating spool system supported by ABEC 5 stainless steel bearings. Its dual braking system—a precise combination of centrifugal and magnetic brakes—can be tuned for smooth, trouble-free casting by beginners or fully optimized for expert casters looking to hit extreme distances.

The low-profile aluminium cage sits 5mm closer to the rod, giving the thumb extra control during powerful casts and reducing the risk of spool slip. Inside, a set of precision-machined brass gears delivers a 5.3:1 ratio, pulling in 23” (58 cm) of line per turn via a new counterbalanced EVA power handle.
