Well, AKIOS listened, and have now released the all-new two-piece AKIOS AIRPOWER GTR.

When developing the AIRPOWER GTR there was one primary objective, to develop a true all-rounder fishing rod suitable for varied fishing situations, one that offers ample power to cast large baits for large fish if needed, yet equally capable of flicking out a bunch of ragworm for plaice, and offering the feel and feedback through the blank to maximise the enjoyment of the fight.

The 14ft blank boasts a powerful butt and mid-section that progressively blends into a sensitive glass tip for superb bite detection. Suitable for all casting styles including a simple over-head thump, off-the-ground, or a more powerful pendulum cast with leads between 4-8oz and suitable for clean, mixed and rough ground, the AIPOWER GTR is a hugely versatile fishing rod designed for the serious angler.

Akios Shuttle 656 Kuro STR

Limited Edition long distance casting/fishing reel
It is based on the proven and well respected Akios 656 Shuttle but with a few tweaks to make it an even better casting and fishing tool.
Featuring a longer mag control knobby from the Akios Tourno, controlling a 4 magnet brake block, this reel offers even greater casting potential since the magnets can be backed right off to allow the spool to run absolutely free. Also setting it apart from the standard Shuttle are lightweight aluminium side plates and extra tough 5.3:1 stainless steel gears.
As per the standard Shuttle, this Limited Edition KURO comes with a free floating spool system with two integrated ABEC 5 stainless steel bearings.
