How to fully kit up if your an outdoor angler

How to fully kit up if your an outdoor angler

If you are heading out on a long fishing trip then there are a number of essential items that you will need to take out with you. Whether you are an experienced angler or a beginner these items will serve you well when you are out by the water, whether you are fishing overnight or even for a full day. In this blog we will outline what some of these essential items are which can all be purchased with us here at Taskers Angling

1. Water Bottle

Making sure that you are fully hydrated when you are by the water is very important and can often be overlooked by anglers. having a flask, water carrier or coolbox means you can transport the amount of water you need with you to your fishing location. Shop our cooking and camping range to see which ones are best for you.

2. Fishing Rod And Reel

A good rod and reel can really make the difference when it comes to landing those big catches. Make sure to get the right combos depending on what type of fishing you are doing i.e carp fishing, sea fishing or pike fishing. We offer rod and reel combos to make it easier to get the right one for you. You can also visit our store where are team will be able to help you get the right combo.

3. Backpack

A good backpack which has plenty of storage space is key for any angler who is out fishing. You'll need one to transport all your essentials such as lures, baits storage boxes. A tip is to try and get one with different storage compartments so you can organise all of your gear properly so that you know where everything is. Below are some examples of backpacks that we offer

Wychwood Tactical HD Backpack

- Cygnet Compact Rucksack

- Vercelli Terra Rucksack 40L

4. Chair Or Bedchair
Having somewhere comfortable to sit is something that can't be underestimated if you are going to be spending a couple of hours out by the water. A good fishing chair will keep you comfy and means you will also be able to kick back and relax when you are waiting for a bite. If you are planning an overnight trip then you will need a bedchair which will keep you comfy. Make sure the one that you get is appropriate for the season for the time you will be fishing at i.e. get a lighter one if you will be out in the summer.
5. Portable Charger
Fishing is a great way to get away from the distractions of life but your phone could come in handy. Having a powerbank or portable charger means that you can keep your phone charged up incase you need to contact someone in an emergency. Because of this we would definitely recommend getting one! Below are some of the powerpacks we stock.

6. Headlight Or Torch

You may think this only applies to people who go night fishing but with it going dark early still it is important for everyone to have one so you are not caught off guard in the dark. You'll want to be able to see where you are going particularly if you will be moving around in the dark and a headlight or head torch is the best way to do that. Head torches can come with different light settings and long battery lives so you can get the most out of it.

We hope that after reading this blog you have a better understanding of what you need to take with you on your fishing trip. If you have any questions then visit our store or give us a call on 0151 260 6015.
